Monastic Higher Secondary English Boarding School (Nepali: मोनस्टिक उ. मा. बी. जनकपुर), (usually known simply as Monastic School) is a private boarding school in Janakpurdham, Dhanusa District,[2] south-east Nepal. Founded by Mithilesh Shah, it was named Monastic after the Sanskrit word gurukul (गुरुकुल), the name for an ancient education system of the Hindus. However, the school does not follow the guru-shishya tradition and is a "normal" residential school.[3]
In 2006, the school was upgraded to higher secondary school.[2]
