Marcel Thomas Andreas Eris (born 2 March 1988), better known by the alias MontanaBlack, is a Turkish-German streamer, YouTuber, and Internet personality, who is known for playing video games such as Call of Duty, GTA 5 and FIFA.[3]

Since 2018, Eris has been the biggest German Twitch streamer, and in September 2019 was the most subscribed streamer worldwide.[4][5][3]

Personal life[edit]

Eris was born and raised in Buxtehude to a Turkish mother and a German father.[6] After his parents divorced, he went to live with his grandparents.[7]

Eris had a drug addiction growing up, he reportedly financed his addiction with theft.[8]

Career[edit]

Eris started in 2013 by uploading videos to YouTube of himself playing the first-person shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Controversies[edit]

In December 2018, Eris' Twitch account was suspended for 30 days due to racial remarks, he later stated that "Anyone who blames me, for being a racist, really just has no clue.".[6]

While on vacation in Malta in 2020, on the balcony of his hotel room, he took pictures and made sexual remarks on an unknowing female hotel visitor, which caused him to get a 33 day suspension on his Twitch account to which he later stated "At that moment it was just funny".[9][10][11]
