Moshe Begim (born 1962) is an American business executive and former Israeli Air Force captain[citation needed], based in California. He is known for his business relationship as the president of AVC Corporation and Life Mel Honey.[1][2]

Career[edit]

Begim is president of AVC Corporation, a California-based company that designs and manufactures custom plastic and paper packaging for retail products.[1] Its services include custom packaging, media replication, graphic design and pre-press. AVC Corporation was founded in 1955, is based in Rancho Dominguez, California, and has a facility in China.[citation needed]

Begim and Guy Marom, AVC co-president, were arrested in 1988 and charged with money laundering. A total of thirteen suspects were arrested and charged.[3] Begin maintained his innocence of the charges, stating that he was told that the money was for the Mossad, the intelligence agency for Israel, to fund anti-Communist guerrillas operating in Central America. He was found guilty after a trial in 1989.[4]

Begim is also involved with Life Mel Honey, a brand of honey produced by Zuf Globus Laboratories Ltd. The honey is derived from bees that are fed a diet of herbs such as Siberian ginseng, Echinacea and Uncaria tomentosa.[5] He is responsible for the distribution of the product in the United States along with partner Yaron Shmueli.[6] He distributes the product through his company New Horizon and is the exclusive distributor of the product in the U.S.[2]
