Saket Modi (born 31st July 1990) is an entrepreneur.[1] He is the co-founder and chief executive officer of Lucideus, an enterprise cyber security platforms.[2][3] He has been featured in the 40 under 40 list of Fortune Magazine,[4][5] 35 under 35 list of Entrepreneur Magazine[6] and 30 under 30 list of Forbes Magazine.[7]
Early life[edit]
Saket was born and raised in Calcutta. Saket finished his schooling from Lakshmipat Singhania Academy and then earned his Bachelors in Technology majoring in Computer Science Engineering[1] from the LNM Institute of Information Technology in 2009.[8]
Saket is also a pianist and holds a degree from the Royal Schools of Music, London on the Grand Piano.[9][7]
He is an ethical hacker.[2] In his school days, he hacked into his school's IT system, gaining access to a chemistry question paper and that's when he realized that he could use his skills for social good.[8]
As an under-grad student, Saket used to carry out 2-day hands on workshops on ethical hacking at most of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).[7]
Career[edit]
In 2012, Saket Modi founded Lucideus with his friends Vidit Baxi and Rahul Tyagi.[8][5][10] They brought together a team of security professionals and started the company with the aim of providing cyber security services. In 2013, Lucideus opened its first office in New Delhi[8] and went on to open offices in Bombay, Bangalore, Boston, Palo Alto, New York.[11]
In 2017, under Saket's leadership, Lucideus was recognized as a Top IT start up in the country by the Government of India.[12][13]
Following year, Saket launched new product, Safe (Security Assessment Framework for Enterprise), which enables organizations to view the real-time status of its Cyber Security Risk Posture and Pro-actively monitor potential threats.[8][2][14]
Saket with his team have been involved in providing digital risk management services to multiple Fortune 500 companies across the globe. Over the past 3 years, Saket’s team has been responsible for the security assessment of the BHIM the application designed by National Payments Corporation of India and launched by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi on 31st December 2016.[15][16][2][17]
Saket has been invited to speak on various subject of information security and entrepreneurship at International Forums like Mobile World Congress, CeBIT (Germany), Forbes under 30 Global Summit (Boston),[18] Confederation of Indian Industry, Cyber-Tech (Israel), ISACA, TiE, TED (conference), etc.[19][20][21]
