Muhammad Hassan Al Humsi
(Arabic: محمد حسن الحمصي) is a Syrian writer, founder, general manager and editor-in-chief of Sada al-Iman magazine.[1]

Biography[edit]

Muhammad Hassan Al Humsi is a writer from Damascus, Syria.[2] He studied Quran recitation at the hands of the late professor Saeed Al-Hlwani. He obtained his secondary certificate in the scientific field in 1953. He then obtained his bachelor's degree from the Syrian University (College of Arts - Department of Arabic Language) in 1958. He obtained another bachelor's degree from Damascus University (College of Sharia) in 1966. He also obtained a master's degree from Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in Cairo (Faculty of Sharia and Law) in 1975. He got a doctorate degree in Islamic sciences from Imam Al-Awza'i College in Beirut in 1989. He also obtained the rank of professorship from Omdurman Islamic University in 2000.[3]

He married in 1964 and has three children.

Activities[edit]

He worked since 1967 and is still a religion teacher and preacher in a number of Damascus schools and mosques. He participated in many television interviews, seminars, intellectual forums, and official conferences. He contributed to the activity of the Al-Ansar Charitable Society in Damascus, and to the activity of the Sheikh Ahmad Kuftaro Complex (the Abi Al-Nour Complex). In the establishment of the Syrian and Arab Publishers Union, he also contributed as a member of the Union of Journalists in journalistic activity and has many scientific articles and publications in several Arab and international magazines and newspapers. He taught Arabic literature in many high schools in Damascus, and held the position of director of the Sharia secondary school in Damascus in 1968. For a period of two years, he taught at Imam Al-Awza'i College in Beirut, at the Islamic Dawah College, and at the Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion, in the Abi Al-Nour Complex in Damascus. He is the founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dar Al-Rasheed for Printing, Publishing and Distribution in Damascus since 1975, as well as the Board of Directors of Al-Iman Foundation for Printing, Publishing and Distribution in Beirut since 1977.  He is the founder, general manager, and editor-in-chief of the magazine (Sada Al-Iman), which has been in Lebanon since 1995. He is the founder and chairman of the Board of Directors of the Faith Foundation for Audiovisual and Reading Production since 2000.

He worked in the field of 'purposeful Islamic stories' and wrote a series of stories from history that included the following books:

  • The Struggle Between Vice and Virtue.
  • Cradle of Championships.
  • Beyond Justice.
  • Loyalty.
  • The Right Word.

He also has books on science and faith, the most important of which are (The Bee Glorifies God, and Belief in God) that have been translated into English and French. He also has books on Arabic language sciences, such as Comprehensive Arabic Orthography, and How to Write a Structural Essay.[6]

His other books include:

  • Interpretation and clarification of the vocabulary of the Qur'an on the Qur'an's readings and intonation.[7]
  • Explanation of the intonation of the Quran with full indexes.
  • Interpretation and clarification of the vocabulary of the Qur'an with full indexes.[8]
  • Preachers and the contemporary Islamic call emanating from mosques.[9]
