Hamid Fadil Hashush Al-Ghazi حامد فاضل

is an Iraqi writer, novelist, playwright, and journalist.

Biography[edit]

Hamid Fadil was born in the Iraqi city of Al Rumaitha in 1950. He earned a BA in English Language and Literature and worked as a teacher. From 2003 to 2005, he worked as a reporter for the "Al-Zaman" newspaper, and from 2004 to 2013, he worked as a correspondent for the "Al-Adeeb" Cultural Newspaper, and from 2003 to 2008, he worked as a correspondent for the Reuters News Agency, and from 2004 to 2009, he worked as a representative of the Women's Leadership Institute. He was in charge of the (Al Samawat) Newspaper's culture page.

In 1975 AD, he published his debut tale in the literary journal "Al Talia," as well as translating and publishing works in English and German. He also contributes to the majority of Arab and Iraqi publications and media. He was credited for several years to work in the school activity in the theatre department, then responsible for the literary department, and he prepared, composed, and directed many plays and operas for theatrical activity, the majority of which won prizes, including: "The War Play," the operetta "Tigers of Identity," the operetta "Tales of Wonderful Women," and the play (Wedding and birds," and the play (Wedding and birds). He participated in most of the Iraqi and Arab literary festivals, including the Al Mirbad poetry festival, Al Zawahiri festivals, and all Iraqi narration festivals.[1]

Storyteller, playwright, novelist and journalist Hamid Fadel left at the age of 71 on Tuesday, 15 June 2021.[5]
