Mukesh Hariawala is a cardiothoracic surgeon.[1][2][3] [4] He is also a healthcare economist,[5][6] research scientist,[7][8] and film actor.[9][10] He is frequently invited to deliver speeches worldwide,[11][12]
Career
Hariawala received fellowship certification from The Royal College of Surgeons of England in London. He was then invited to Boston in 1994, where he worked as a fellow in the department of cardiothoracic surgery of St. Elizabeth's Medical Center (Tufts University School of Medicine), and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Harvard Medical School). He then secured fellowship certifications from the International College of Surgeons - Montreal in 2002 and from the American College of Surgeons - San Francisco in 2004.[13]
Research
In Boston, at the St. Elizabeth's Medical Center and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Hariawala pursued basic and clinical science research in creation of the first reproducible porcine heart failure model[14] and used it to demonstrate cardiac angiogenesis, stem cells and cardiopulmonary bypass circuit[15] damage to rest of the body organs.[16][15]
