Plot[edit]
In the beginning, the film shows Rahul "Rahulya" Patil, a gangster, being chased by rival gang members. The film then goes into flashbacks to show the origin.
Sakharam Patil, a farmer and Rahul's father, sells his farming land due to commercial issues. Rahul is angry because of this, and he feels insulted as it makes their family lose the dignity of being the village's Patil. After accidentally scratching a builder's car, Sakharam gets fired from his job as a watchman at a local builder's bungalow. Hence, their family relocates to Mulshi, Pune, and start working as labourers. Yet, Rahul does not work, as he blames his father for all the problems. Soon, Rahul falls for Dipali, the daughter of the head labourer. Rahul beats up the contractor who abuses his father, which makes him come to the attention of the local gangster, Nanya Bhai. Rahul and his friend, Ganya, soon start to work for him. He soon learns that Nanya Bhai was the person who caused his family to sell their land. On his birthday, Rahul kills Nanya and takes control of his gang. He is also aided by the lawyer who formerly worked for Nanya.
Soon, other rival gangs are also formed, and gang wars take place due to domination issues. Newly transferred Inspector Vitthal Godbole looks towards this crime world, and he decides to make the gangs finish each other themselves. Rahul takes in a boy, whom he favours, into his gang. He gives him mobile and a gun and tells him to come to his aid whenever his calls. He tries to marry Dipali, but she refuses as he has become a gangster. He soon finds his family trying to sincerely work and earn money, unlike him, which makes him upset. He tells Sakharam to laugh once heartily, but he refuses due to Rahul's work. Eventually, Rahul's gang grows weak, and Ganya is also killed. He is then pursued by the rival gang members. The film continues from the point at the start of the film. He then calls the boy for his aid, but finally, the boy himself shoots Rahul, revealing that he was one of the person who Rahul land-grabbed. Upon hearing the news, Sakharam finally laughs out loud, as his son is no longer a gangster.
