Musicboard is an online music, social networking service founded by Eric Heimer in 2020. The app was originally created by Heimer for him and his friends to share their music listening habits, but after a large influx of users joined the platform overnight, the project was built up into a full social networking service.[1][2]
The website and app are designed for its users to "share their love for music with friends and the world." To allow this, users can write reviews, rate music, interact with other profiles, and more (see Features below).[3]
As of March 2021, members have rated or reviewed 1,656,782 albums, artists, or tracks.[1]
Features[edit]
Musicboard is open for anyone to read reviews and lists, but users have to create an account to write their own content. Logged in members can share their opinions by rating albums, artists, and tracks, and add an optional review if they would like. Members can also compile music into organized lists, or add music to the "Listen Later", which lets them track music they want to listen to. Members can follow each other to stay up to date with other users' activity.[4]
Musicboard also offers a paid version, which grants more features for a monthly subscription. Musicboard PRO includes:
- In-depth statistics based on their ratings and reviews
- Personal backdrops on their profile
- A dedicated spot on their profile for favorite albums
- Unlimited length on reviews
- Unlimited length on list descriptions
- Personal backdrops on their lists[5]
Availability[edit]
Musicboard is available for free, worldwide. It is offered both as a website, or as a native mobile app on iOS or Android devices.
