"My Ordinary Life" is a pop[1][2] song by electronic rock band the Living Tombstone. The song was produced by Yoav Landau and sung by Sam Haft, and was released as a single in 2017. The song was popular on YouTube and TikTok[3] reaching over 274 million views by 2024, along with over 524 million plays.

Background and release[edit]

The song was created by the Living Tombstone. Released in 2017, it was the first song Sam Haft and Yoav Landau wrote together.[4] The song's lyrics talk about the complexities of success and the feelings of disconnection and disillusionment that can accompany fame. The song is inspired by and samples music from the 2011 anime adaptation of Nichijou, known in English as "My Ordinary Life."

Reception and legacy[edit]

In 2023, the song earned the band their first RIAA Platinum certification. Haft stated in an interview, "the platinum certification of My Ordinary Life was a major milestone, and it’s the first song my music partner Yoav Landau and I ever wrote together, so it felt like a wonderful full-circle moment."[5]

The single was featured as the sixth track on the band's 2024 compilation album Internet Childhood.
