My Restful Mind Inc. is a web-based mental health service provider, enhancing the socio-emotional well-being of the community. My Restful Mind Inc. has a diverse panel of therapists, who specialize in different areas of mental health providing evidence-based therapy. Headquartered in Ontario, Canada. My Restful Mind Inc. was founded in 2019 by Muhammad Hassan Moeen.

History[edit]

My Restful Mind Inc. was founded by Hassan Moeen in November 2019, after he realized the importance of mental health in his first year at the University of Waterloo when he met his roommate who happened to suffer from separation anxiety. Due to long wait times at counseling services on and off-campus, his roommate never got the help he needed and eventually dropped out of university.

This created a lasting impact on Hassan, and he developed an urge to learn more about mental health issues and how to cope with them effectively. Within the next couple of years, Hassan Moeen started My Restful Mind Inc. with the goal of providing accessible, flexible, and budget-friendly online mental health support services to students across universities and colleges.

Although universities try to provide on-campus mental health services for students, they can’t accommodate everyone due to limited mental health professionals and rising demand.[1] In such situations, students refrain from seeking help due to long wait times, budget constraints, and the inability to navigate external resources. Understanding the student needs and university limitations, they have developed a web-based mental health platform that offers students individual therapy and peer support.[2]

Services[edit]

My Restful Mind Inc. is a globally accessible platform that uses an AI-based survey to match individuals from a wide array of backgrounds to a therapist that will cater to their needs.

They have SafeTALK[3] trained peer mentors as part of their Peer Support Program, to help individuals with seemingly minor but recurring day-to-day stress and anxiety issues. Although the online therapy services they offer are prompt, they are only accessible to students with internet access.

Peer review studies have revealed that virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person sessions for treating an array of mental health disorders, including anxiety and depression. However, the virtual nature and physical distance prevent the therapist from responding to a crisis such as direct assistance in case of Suicidal Ideation.

My Restful Mind Inc. has only one psychiatrist on the panel, limiting their ability to cater to complex and serious symptoms of a mental health condition. The company has yet to expand the scope of online services since online therapy is not as effective for serious psychiatric illnesses.

They provide Individual Therapy and have personalized student-friendly packages. Therapeutic approaches offered by therapists include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based treatment options. The student-friendly packages include services such as Individual Therapy sessions for up to 90 minutes, Stress Management Toolkit, Self-Care Guide & Study Plan, COVID-19 Anxiety Treatment, In-Person Therapy Referral, and Customer Support.

My Restful Mind Inc. is HIPAA, GDPR, PHIPA/PIPEDA, & HITECH compliant where all sessions are conducted securely. They use a HIPAA compliant secure platform, doxy.me to maintain client confidentiality and anonymity.

My Restful Mind Pakistan[edit]

About[edit]

My Restful Mind Pakistan is a mental health care service in Pakistan, personalized to student needs. They have developed a user and budget-friendly platform to address the challenges faced by individuals and meet their counseling needs.

Mental Health in Pakistan[edit]

With a population of just above 220 million, reportedly 50 million Pakistanis are living with some sort of mental disorder. That roughly translates to 1 in every 4 people, yet the discourse is not as widespread as the problem.[4]

Mental disorders come in all shades and hues, none of which are considered socially acceptable in Pakistan. In their traditionalist society, stigma and a lack of access to supportive resources have prevented most of those suffering to get the help they deserve.[5]

Their Mission & Vision[edit]

My Restful Mind Pakistan strives to be a world-class mental health service provider that is culturally responsive, enhancing the socio-emotional wellbeing of the community. They look forward to offering technology-driven cognitive behavioral therapy-based solutions to global mental health issues.[6]
