The National Empowerment Alliance of America (NEA) is a youth advocacy group based in the United States. Founded to increase voter literacy and access to voting among young people ahead of the 2018 elections, the Alliance supports voter registration and education efforts[3] but also incorporated in 2020[4] to advocate for issues affecting young people in the United States.

History[edit]

The Alliance was founded in 2017 as a club at Ronald Reagan High School in San Antonio, Texas with eight members[5], and later expanded to 10 other high schools in the US. The Alliance's first national summit was scheduled for 2020 but was likely canceled due to the 2020 coronavirus pandemic.

Issues[edit]

As of July 12, 2020, the Alliance has not released a slate of issues, however, following the killing of George Floyd, the Alliance released statements on social media in support of the nationwide protests. This was followed by two public statements by the Alliance's president in support of police reform[6] and a petition that garnered more than 2,900 signatures.
