National Inter College is a secondary[1] to higher secondary school located at Harraiya, Basti, in Uttar Pradesh, India.
The school[2] was established in 1947 in Harraiya town. It is named after the national movement led by the freedom fighter and former MLA of Harraiya, Ran Bahadur Singh.[3] The school had obtained affiliation for High School in 1950, followed by Intermediate in 1954.
The school is associated with the UP Board of High School and Intermediate Education, which conducts the High School and Intermediate examinations in the state of Uttar Pradesh.[4][5] The school was scheduled to be visited by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.[6][7]
Notable Alumni[edit]
Mata Prasad, who was the alumni of National Inter College[3] was the first SC (Scheduled Caste) officer to head the state bureaucracy. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 2012, for his contributions to civil service.
Anil Kumar Singh, who was born in Mumbai, a renowned Hindi Poet had completed his studies from National Inter College.[8][9]
