Walmart Neighborhood Market is an American chain of grocery stores owned by Walmart owned Walmart Inc.. The chain was founded in 1998 when three stores were tested in Arkansas. The stores range from 28,000 to 65,000 square feet (2,600 to 6,000 square meters) and averaging about 42,000 square feet (3,900 square metres), about a fifth of the size of a Walmart Supercenter./>
By 2010, Walmart opened about 180 Walmart Neighborhood Markets. The same year, Walmart said it was ready to accelerate its expansion plans for the grocery stores. The Neighborhood Markets began to expand across the country.
The Neighborhood Markets have similar designs to Superceters. There is one side to the Grocery & the other to the Household. Most Neighborhood Markets have an only one door to the Grocery side of the store, like a typical Grocery Store. However, at some locations in Arkansas, there are doors to the Grocery and Household sides of the store like the Supercenter.
