Nemilicheri is a neighborhood in Poonamallee taluk, Tiruvallur district, Tamil Nadu, India.[1] The neighbourhood is surrounded by Tiruninravur, Pattabiram, Poonamallee, and Red Hills.
Location
Nemilicheri is located near Tiruninravur at an altitude of 32 m above mean sea level.
Boundaries
Nemilicheri is bounded by the Palavedu Lake in the north, Pakkam in the northwest, Pattabiram in the northeast, Tiruninravur in the west, Pattabiram railway station in the east, Perumalpattu in the southwest, Chembarambakkam Lake in the south and Avadi in the southeast.

Demographics
Nemilicheri is a Census Town in the district of Thiruvallur, in the state of Tamil Nadu, India.[1] As of 2011 Census of India, the total population of Nemilicheri was 5,743 (males: 2,933 and females: 2,810). The sex ratio was 958:1,000. Out of this, 42.36% (2,433) were Scheduled Castes and 1.53% (88) were Scheduled Tribes. The sex ratio of SC was 931:1,000 and of ST was 1,095:1,000. The population of children below 6 years of age was 548 (males: 294 and females: 254). The child sex ratio was 864:1,000 compared to Tamil Nadu state average of 943. Literacy rate of Nemilicheri was 91.76% (4,767), which was higher than the Tamil Nadu state average of 80.09%. Out of this, male literacy was around 95.57% (2,522) while female literacy was 87.80% (2,245).[2]
Transportation
One of the nearby important roads to Nemilicheri is Chennai Outer Ring Road or ORR or CORR.[3] The cost of this project from Nemilicheri to Minjur is about ₹1,400 crore.[4] Chennai - Tiruvallur High (CTH) road and Thandurai - Nemilicheri road are some of the other important roads near to Nemilicheri.
The second phase of the Outer Ring Road (ORR), that is going to connect Nemilicheri and Minjur is still in progress and not yet completed.[5]
A Toll plaza is to be set up near Nemilicheri.[6]
Road transport
Nemilicheri is well connected to all places of Chennai, Tiruvallur and Kanchipuram districts by Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) Bus services. It is well connected to Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M. G. Ramachandran Central Railway Station (25 km from Nemilicheri) by MTC bus services. Chennai Egmore railway station (24 km from here) is well connected to Nemilicheri by MTC Bus services.
The Outer Ring Road (ORR) that connects Vandalur to Minjur passes through Nemilicheri. It is planned to connect Sriperumbudur with the Chennai Outer Ring Road at Nemilicheri.[7]

Nemilicheri has a railway station viz., Nemilichery railway station. And connected are: Tiruvallur railway station (16 km), Thiruninravur railway station, Pattabiram railway station, Pattabiram military siding railway station, Avadi railway station, Perambur railway station (20 km away from here), Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M. G. Ramachandran Central Railway Station and Chennai Egmore railway station.
