Nicholas Roberts (born 1994) is a journalist and radio broadcaster who currently serves as the deputy-editor of the Falkland Islands' Penguin News.[1]. He previously served as a journalist for Falkland Islands Radio Service[2] and managed the Falkland Islands Chamber of Commerce[3].
Roberts was born in 1994 in the Falkland Islands to David and Leona Roberts[4]. Roberts was then raised in Stanley and, after attending the Falkland Islands Community School[5], went to the United Kingdom to study music at Chichester College and University of Westminster[3].
Career[edit]
Roberts began journalism in London during his studies, writing for online music publications Renowned for Sound[6], Noizze and When The Horn Blows. After concluding his studies in the UK Roberts returned to the Falkland Islands and took a job at Falklands Radio as broadcast journalist. After a little over a year in the post Roberts spent a year managing the Falkland Islands Chamber of Commerce as the Executive Secretary. Following this period, Roberts took the post of deputy editor at Penguin News in 2020. Alongside his editorial role he acts as a freelancer for various news organisations, including The Sunday Times[7]
