Nick Edward Herbert (born 19 July 1975) is a British songwriter and worship leader. He is currently based in Birmingham, UK and is the Creative & Ministry Pastor at Gas Street Church[1] and a worship leader and songwriter for Worship Central[2], a global ministry focused around training and equipping worship leaders.[3]

Career[edit]

Originally from Birmingham, Nick moved to London to study fine art. Following this, Nick became a full time worship leader at St Paul’s Anglican fellowship (later to become St Mary’s Bryanston Square) where he worked for over ten years. Following this, he worked at St Stephen’s, Twickenham and in 2015 moved back to Birmingham to be part of the church planting team for Gas Street Church alongside Tim Hughes. Nick’s passion is song writing and he has now become an established songwriter with Capitol CMG (he was previously signed with ThankYou Music). He has written with Martin Smith (‘God’s Great Dance Floor’, ‘Back to the Start’), Tim Hughes (‘Counting on your Name’, ‘Jesus Saves’), Ben Cantelon (‘Everything in Colour’, ‘New Day’) and Brenton Brown (‘Our God Is Mercy’).[4] [5]

He is married to Ali and they have two children, Gracie and Josiah.[5]
