Nifty Fifty is a 1971 American coming-of-age musical film directed by Gerald MacLachlan in his feature film directorial debut. It starring Joneal Joplin and Viviana Howard.
Set in St. Louis, Missouri, from 1949 to 1951. It premiered on December 11, 1971, in the United States. Three sequels, Nifty Fifty 2 (1973), Nifty Fifty 3 (2002) and Sid and Jane (2015)
The animated opening sequence begins right before Schoolhouse Rock.
