The Niine Movement [1] is an ambitious 5-year plan created to address the taboo topic of menstruation. Niine Movement engages all genders and ages to promote the importance of menstrual hygiene awareness.
- Vision
Empowering girls and women in any nation has the potential to inspire an entire nation. At its core, Niine is a Movement of change for all females in India, driven by its vision for a new and better ‘Swachh Bharat’. We understand the need for collective effort to change mindsets. We intend to use its convening power to engage multi-sector groups in India. To achieve its vision, the Niine Movement’s “theory of change” adopts a three-pronged approach by:
- Educate: In today’s era, there is a need to have open and healthy conversations about menstruation and normalize the discussion. Motivate and educate all genders and ages about good menstrual hygiene practices and menstruation.
- Enroll: Niine Movement's objective is to engage existing menstrual hygiene product users to talk about periods without shame, to create a taboo-free and supportive environment so that no menstruating girl or woman feels marginalized or undignified.
- Enhance: Enhancing the sanitation sector of India by providing the best quality menstrual hygiene products at appropriate prices.
Initiatives
Niine Movement has taken many initiatives to promote menstrual hygiene awareness, which have had a huge impact among the youth of India. It is also promoted by Akshay Kumar himself in NIINE MENSTRUAL AWARENESS CONCLAVE [2] [3] [4] [5] conducted by Niine Movement with the help of Dainik Jagran and Radio City on Menstrual Hygiene Day.
