Nitin Chandra (Hindi:नितिन चंद्रा, Maithili:নিতিন চন্দ্র) is an Indian national award winning[3] Film Director [4]. Nitin Chandra along with his sister Neetu Chandra is the owner of a production house Champaran Talkies.[5] Chandra's works are generally in Maithili and Bhojpuri language.[6][7]
Early Life
Nitin Chandra was born in a middle class Bihari family. He completed his schooling from Don Bosco Patna and later completed his Intermediate from Bihar College of Engineering in 1998. He was selected for Bachelor of Information Technology in Delhi and he was in Delhi for 4 years and later pursued Masters in Communication Studies with Specialisation in Video Production from University of Pune in the year 2003 - 2005. During his higher studies at University of Pune, he made his first short film called “The Outsider” which was adjudged among top three films of the University and was sent for Chennai Film festival. After passing out from University, he shifted to Mumbai for a career in Hindi Film Industry. He started working as an Asst. Director with Directors like Tanuja Chandra, Dibakar Banerjee, and many others. He had a short stint at Dubai also as a Film Director with Line of Action Films, Studio City.
Champaran Talkies
In the year 2008 he started his company called Champaran Talkies, with an office in Mumbai and Patna. His first documentary “Bring Back Bihar - Moment of Awakening” was screened at various places in India and abroad. The documentary created a huge furore and shook minds of several biharis at local and at international level. Government of Bihar organized screenings of his film. Various individuals and agencies screened his film at various centers. National and International Media covered the reaction of his film and media all across supports his cause for upliftment of Bihar. He is working with several NGOs and organisations for Educational and projects related to floods. His next film is “Boya Pade Babool kaa” being adapted from book by environmentalist Dinesh Kumar Mishra. It is funded by an International NGO. Nitin Chandra is dedicated to uplift the level of Bihari film Industry and Cinema as a whole and for that he is already working on a few scripts to make international Cinema which are based in Bihar and would have international audience to endorse it. He travels all over the country for his project but most of the time he is in Mumbai and Bihar for his projects. Apart from film making he is a social activist and educationalist. He organises Film Making courses and workshops at various colleges in Patna and Pune.

Director of Best Feature Film in Maithili, Mithila Makhaan in 63rd National Film Awards.[8]
