Early life[edit]

Noel Philips was born in Leicester, United Kingdom, in 1980. He grew up in the East Midlands of the UK and is currently living in Derbyshire. He is married to Rachel and has 2 children in his family.[1][2]

Career[edit]

His fascination for aviation started when he was 11 and went on his school trip to Russia. After finishing his education, he started his career as an IT consultant and later moved on with his passion for travel and aviation blogging as his full-time job now.[3]

Noel also holds a Private Pilots Licence (PPL) with an Instrument Rating (Restricted) and is a private pilot. He flies around the UK in his Piper PA28, exploring and making adventure travel videos. His second YouTube channel is 'Noel Philips Pilot Vlogs'.[4]

Noel Philips is now a full time YouTuber with over 330,000 subscribers. He started his YouTube channel in 2014. As of today, Noel has traveled to every continent in the world except Antarctica.[5]

In 2018, Noel gained popularity for flying from the United Kingdom to New Zealand and back in 72 hours. He flew on what were at the time the two longest flights in the world back to back.[6]

In 2019, Noel flew around the world in 80 hours, setting off from Greenwich, London and flying through Kuwait, India, Singapore and the United States before arriving back in London with 20 minutes to spare.[7]

In 2021, Noel visited the small town of Alliance, Nebraska, location of the least used airport in the mainland USA. He got stranded overnight when a snowstorm hit the area, but was taken in by a local family until he managed to fly out when the weather cleared.[8]
