Early life[edit]
Born in Sweden to a Swedish mother and Iranian father, Skaugen was raised in London and went on to study Law at Warwick University.[3]
Career[edit]
Skaugen released two singles, "Skid" and "Gone" online in 2006. "Gone" reached No. 9 on the international PodPlay Top 10 in its first week. In 2007, Skaugen released her debut EP, Palomino, and both performed and was recognised for her talent by two of the most prestigious Independent Award Shows in the US. She was awarded Alternative Pop Artist of The Year' at The Los Angeles Music Awards, and 'National Independent Rock EP of The Year' at The Hollywood Music Awards. She followed this in 2008 with the release of her full-length album debut, Lost and Found. She has a substantial following on Twitter with over 1 million followers at the end of December 2009. She performed at SXSW 2010 as part of the 'Showcasing Bands' lineup.[4] Her music has appeared in a number of films, including Road Trip 2: Beer Pong, and Skaugen, trained at RADA, has acted in a number of television shows and films, including Dead Pixels for E4, Entourage and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. She plays Lady Kurda, a lead role in the war feature film Sisters in Arms by Caroline Fourest, released in cinemas in France on 9 October 2019.

Charity work[edit]
A percentage of her Lost and Found album sales are being given to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, after Skaugen lost her mother to breast cancer.[7]
