Christopher Olumuyiwa Aboluwoye (born August 8, 1961) is a Nigerian professor of Chemistry at Adekunle Ajasin University. He specialized in Physical chemistry, Analytical chemistry, Protein structure and folding.[1]
Early life and career[edit]
Aboluwoye was born on August 1961 in Akure, the capital of Ondo State southwestern Nigeria.[2][3] He attended Anglican Grammar School, Ijare where he obtained the West African School Certificate in 1978. He obtained a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Ibadan in 1984, master's degree in 1986 and doctorate degree in Chemistry from the same university.[4] He joined the services of Adekunle Ajasin University in 1989 and rose to the position of Associate professor in 1998 and in 2003, he was appointed a professor.[5] In 2004, he became a member of the University Governing Council, the same year he was appointed the Dean of the Faculty of Science, a position he held for four years. On April 2008, he was appointed, the National Chairman, Committee of Deans of Science in Nigerian Universities, a position he held till date.[6] In 2007, he led the group that campaign for Ibrahim Babangida, the former military head of states.[7] He served as director of research at Adekunle Ajasin University.[8] on August 23, 2007, he delivered the 3rd Adekunle Ajasin University inaugural lecture titled "Chemistry on earth as it is in heaven".[9]
