Option Alpha is a personal finance website that provides online education and software to people looking to trade in the financial markets, specifically in the options trading space. Founded in 2007, Option Alpha's Founder, Kirk Du Plessis, still serves as the CEO and Head Trader for the company and its members. The top-ranked training platform offers some of the most comprehensive options trading resources in the industry, including downloadable PDF guides and checklists, video training courses, live webinar workshops, weekly podcast shows, and exclusive options scanning and backtesting software.
History
Founded in August 2007 by Kirk Du Plessis, Option Alpha initially began as a small personal blog where Kirk shared his daily trading activities and market perspective. Over time, the small blog evolved into the online education and training platform it is today, with more than 40,000 active members representing 42 different countries worldwide. More than 150 new members join the Option Alpha community daily. The website records more than 5.6 million visitors annually. [1][2] Before founding Option Alpha, Kirk Du Plessis worked as a Mergers and Acquisitions Investment Banker for Deutsche Bank in New York and a REIT Analyst for BB&T Capital Markets in Washington, D.C. He has also consulted and advised for multiple hedge funds, including a multi-billion dollar fund located in New York. He currently is a full-time options trading and real estate investor with his wife. [3]
