Outalot is a Web 2.0 and Mobile Web service that provides a social networking, user review, and local search of restaurants, movies, and stores.[1][2][3]

Outalot relies on User-generated content for its restaurant, bar, and shop reviews. Unlike its competitors, users are restricted in Outalot to short reviews of 140 characters or less, and a simple "thumbs-up / thumbs-down" rating. The intention behind such limited review is to make the service more user-friendly for mobile users and for users scanning the site quickly.

In Fall of 2008, Outalot collaborated with Internet couponing site 8coupons to provide local coupons users using the service near an offered deal.[4]

The mobile phone or PDA, using Outalot service, receive online coupons and free offers as you walk by a registered store or partner. Showing your phone at the cash register is materializing your offer.[5]

In February 2009, Outalot launched a location-based iPhone app to Apple Inc.'s App Store.[6]
