) is a 2007 Bengali romantic drama film directed by Hara Patnaik and produced by Eskay Movies.[1] The film marks the debut of Yash Dasgupta, Ritwick Chakraborty and features Arpita Mukherjee in lead roles.[2]
Plot
The narrative centers around Geetanjali, or Geeta as she is known, a college student who comes across a poem in a diary left on the shores of Kanyakumari beach. She signs it with a hope that the poet would succeed in his love endeavors. She goes on to lose her anklet in the sea and a stranger dives in to get it for her, but does not resurface. Geeta becomes painstakingly haunted by dreams of his death and is encouraged by her friends to simply move on from the incident.
Ajay Banerjee, a local MP Avataram’s son, is a notorious womanizer. He attempts to woo Geeta and when she denies his advances, he makes an impulsive decision to leap off a building that he had threatened to do from for her to save him from himself. A relaxed young man, Suriya, finds himself infatuated with Geeta at first glance. He tries to accept the fact that he has been opposed by Avataram and gets roped into a different woman’s engagement, until he manages to help Ajay and Geeta elope. During their journey, Suriya and Geeta begin to develop feelings for one another. On the day Geeta is supposed to wed, she feels as if she knows the man that resolved to go to the depths of the sea for her anklet and find it’s true owner. What she discovers is that he loves her just as much as she loves him.[3]
