Panji Koming
Panji Koming is an Indonesian comic strip created by cartoonist Dwi Koendoro, It was published in the Sunday edition of Kompas newspaper since October 14, 1979. It tells the story of Paunji Koming during the Majapahit era.[1]
Even though it takes the setting of the past, the cases raised are often linked to actual things happening in Indonesia today, especially during the New Order era and afterwards. This comic strip was created by Dwi Koendoro at the suggestion of cartoonist G.M. Sudharta.
Synopsis[edit]
Panji Koming is a lower middle class youth who has an innocent character and is a bit hesitant. He has a girlfriend named Ni Woro Ciblon who is beautiful, quiet and patient. In everyday life, Panji Koming has a loyal friend named Pailul who is a bit ridiculous but is more open and daring to act. Pailul's lover is Ni Dyah Gembili, a fat woman who always talks frankly. Another protagonist is "Mbah", a necromancer who is frequently asked about spiritual matters and a mongrel nicknamed "Kirik". The antagonist is an insane bureaucrat named Denmas Arya Kendor.
