Paritala Nirupam (born 15 February 1988) is an Indian television actor, writer and model.[2] He predominantly works in Telugu television series and shows. He made his debut into television in 2008 with drama series Chandramukhi which became successful. Then he acted in many television series. His successful television series include Chandramukhi (2008 - 2013) and Karthika Deepam (2017–Present). He rose to fame for his character 'Dr.Karthik' in Karthika Deepam.
Early life[edit]
Nirupam was born on 15 February 1998 in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. His father was a popular Tollywood Screenwriter Paritala Ohmkar. Nirupam is born into a Telugu-speaking Hindu family. He did his MBA at Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya, Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu.
Career[edit]
2008: Debut in Television[edit]
Nirupam made his debut in television with drama television series Chandramukhi which made him successful on Telugu Television. The series became one of the biggest hits on the television of the times. The series ended in 2013.
2011 - 2016: Further career[edit]
Nirupam then acted in another Soap opera Kalavaari Kodallu which started in 2011. By the time he became one of the prominent television actors. Although Kalavaari Kodallu (2011 - 2014) received mixed reviews, nirupam received positive reviews for his role.[3] He then acted in another television series Kanchana Ganga which started in 2013. In 2014, he started acting in a television series titled as Muga Manasalu. Nirupam started acting in Kumkuma Puvvu from 2016.
He also participated in many Telugu Television Reality shows, Game shows and Talk shows. Some of the popular ones are Cash, Wow and Wow 2.
2017 - Present: Kathika Deepam and beyond[edit]
In 2017, Gutha Venkateswararao announced that he is going to produce a drama series Karthika Deepam directed by Rajendra. The series is a remake of Malayalam series Karuthamuthu. Nirupam was chosen as the lead actor in the series. Karthika Deepam started airing on Star Maa on 16 October 2017. In its initial days of airing, the series didn't receive much praise. As the series continued, it got much praise for both the screenplay and the acting done by Nirupam and his co-actor Premi Viswanath.[4] The series became one of the biggest hits of the Indian Television.[5] The character played by Nirupam, 'Dr. Karthik' became so famous among the audience.[6] People started calling 'Dr. Karthik' instead of his name. The other name of his character in the series is 'Doctor Babu' as callled by the female lead Premi Viswanath (aka Deepa) in the series also became so popular. The series is currently airing on Star Maa with huge reception.[7]
He acted in a romantic-drama television series Prema, which started airing in 2018. The series ended in February 2020.[8]
Nirupam started acting in a romantic-drama television series Hitler Gari Pellam which is started in August 2020.[9] The series is currently airing on Zee Telugu.[10] The series received mixed reviews. Nirupam's character in the series recevied much reception.[11]He also co-produced the series.
Personal life[edit]
In 2010 Nirupam married popular television actress Manjula, who is his co-actor in the series Chandramukhi.[12] They both have a son named Akshaj Ohmkar.
