Parul Mathur (born 16 January 1972) is a 2008 batch IPS Officer [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] of Chhattisgarh cadre. She is presently serving as Superintendent of Police of Mungeli district of Chhattisgarh[6] [7] [8]. She has been very instrumental in making a public friendly Police Department in her district. She is one of the few female IPS Officers of India who is serving as Superintendent of Police of a district [9]
Police Career[edit]
Parul Mathur is a 2008 batch IPS Officer and was alloted Chhattisgarh cadre. She served as CSP of Bilaspur and SP of Railway, Raipur. She served as commandant of Battalion at Janjgir. She was then posted as Superintendent of Police to Bemetara.She then became Superintendent of Police of Mungeli, Chhattisgarh[10] .
Early Life[edit]
She was born to Mr. Rajiv Mathur and Mrs. Rekha Mathur in New Delhi. Her father was an IPS officer and Director of National Police Academy. She completed her schooling from different schools of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. She earned a bachelor's degree in history from prestigious Lady Shri Ram College, a master's in history and M.Phil from Jawaharlal Nehru University. She qualified for UGC[disambiguation needed] Net[disambiguation needed] and got scholarship as Junior Research Fellowship. She cracked UPSC Civil Service Examination in 2008 and alloted Indian Police Service in Chhattisgarh Cadre.

She is married to Mr. Mohit Mathur. The couple have a child named Riaan.
