Peter Clottey
Peter Clottey is a Ghanaian-American award-winning journalist and media practitioner known for his work with the Voice of America (VOA). Born July 3, 1976, in Ghana, he has, since 2016, been host of VOA's One-on-One with Peter Clottey and other programs on that network.[1] “One on One with Peter Clottey” is part of the VOA's television program Africa 54, where Peter gets to interview high-level decision makers, thinkers, influencers, and leaders.[2]
Education/life in Ghana
Peter began his journalism career while studying at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he earned a bachelor’s in mining engineering upon completion. At KNUST, he managed the student radio station, Dynamite 88.9 FM, where he quickly gained recognition as a broadcast journalist. Peter hosted music and sports programs as a news anchor for Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, during which he built a national reputation with Choice 102.3 FM, a news radio station in Accra.
Career
Peter is the host of Nightline Africa on the VOA,[3][4] a magazine radio show on Saturdays and Sundays. He also reports on economic and political news,[5][6][7] vice presidents, prime ministers, and other governmental ministers.[8]
Peter is a volunteer news anchor with WPFW 89.3FM, where he broadcasts a weekly summary of African news to the local African populations in Washington, D.C..
