Peter DeYoung (born 1978) is the CEO of Piramal Global Pharma, Piramal Enterprises Ltd.[1]., and is a member of the Piramal Pharma Operating Board.

Early life[edit]

DeYoung was born in Milwaukee, WI, United States on 1978. He earned his Bachelor of Science in engineering degree from Princeton University in Computer Science (summa cum laude) in 2000[2]. He then pursued his Master’s in Business Administration from Stanford University, where he was recognized as an Arjay Miller Scholar in 2006[3].

Career[edit]

DeYoung began his career by working in various investing and consulting roles in healthcare in the US, Europe and India. In 2000, he joined McKinsey & Company as a Business Analyst in New York after graduating from Princeton[4], where he worked on a number of projects for Pharmaceutical and Medical device companies. In May 2002, he was then seconded by McKinsey to the World Economic Forum in Geneva, Switzerland, as part of the Global Health Initiative[5]. In September 2006, he re-joined McKinsey in New York and Mumbai, where he focused on pharmaceutical and healthcare practice. He then joined The Blackstone Group Private Equity Division in Mumbai in February 2010[6]

In 2015, he was appointed as the CEO of Piramal Critical Care[7], which is now a business unit of Piramal Global Pharma.

Personal life[edit]

DeYoung married Nandini Piramal in 2009[8]. The couple now live in Mumbai with their two children, a son and a daughter. DeYoung is a sports enthusiast and enjoys, swimming and traveling in his spare time.
