Piotr Arak (born 22 May 1987 in Warsaw). Polish economist, director of the Polish Economic Institute.[1]
Education
He graduated from University of Warsaw with a master's degree in social policy and political science and finished postgraduate studies in statistical methods in business. He also holds an MBA from Warsaw School of Economics and Université du Québec à Montréal.
Activity
Since 2018 he has been the director of the Polish Economic Institute. Prior to this, he was a manager at Deloitte, working on macroeconomics. Earlier, he was a chief researcher at the commercial policy center Polityka Insight[2] and worked for the United Nations Development Programme on regional human development indicators later used to monitor cohesion policy. He also worked as an adviser to the Polish Minister of Digital Affairs[3] and at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland and for Freedom House.

He has published more than 150 papers and reports on economic topics and more than 200 press articles[4], in Polish and European media.

In 2020, Arak was named one of the 30 most influential people in the Polish economy by leading Polish media outlets.[13] The same year, he was awarded the decoration for merit to public finances from the Polish Minister of Finance.[14]
