Ilona Weiss (born 1974 in Bydgoszcz) – Polish economist, entrepreneur, new technologies and financial markets expert and executive, President of the Management Board of ABC Data Group in 2015–2019.

Life

Ilona Weiss spent her childhood and early youth in Bydgoszcz, where she attended High School N°6 (Matura diploma 1992). Upon graduation she began working for Bank Handlowy. In 1993–1996 she joined Telekomunikacja Polska SA, where she contributed to the formulation of development and investment plans.

Weiss graduated in 1995 with an Master’s Degree in Finance and Management from the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń From 1996 to 2006 she held managerial positions in the finance department of Alcatel Group. Following the global merger of Alcatel–Lucent in 2006 she worked as financial manager responsible for the post-merger financial reporting integration for Poland and for consolidation. As Financial Director at Sage (2008–2010), she was responsible for finance strategy and operations in Poland.

From 2010 to 2012 she was Vice-President of the Management Board in Sygnity S.A. She served as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Sygnity Europe Ltd. (2012), Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Max Elektronik S.A. (2010–2012), Member of the Supervisory Boards of companies: Winuel S.A. (2010), PB Polsoft Ltd. (2010–2011), Sygnity Technology Ltd. (2010–2011), and MCI Capital TFI S.A. (2013–2019). From 2012 to 2014 she was Investment Partner in the MCI Capital Group. In the years 2012–2014 she served as Vice-President of the Management Board of ABC Data Group. From 2015 to 2016 she acted as President of the Management Board of ABC Data Germany, and from 2015 to 2019 as President of the Management Board of ABC Data Group.

Under her leadership, the ABC Data Group became the leading distributor of IT hardware in Central and Eastern Europe – in 2016 it generated the highest revenues in the entire IT sector in Poland, together with the highest IT hardware sales value (according to the "ITwiz Best 100" report). In 2016, the company expanded its business proposition to include VAD services (Value Added Distributor). In the same year, it became the first official Xiaomi distributor in the European Union. In the following year, it launched its own ABC Data Cloud platform offering advanced IT services based on the cloud model. In 2018 ABC Data Group was granted exclusive distribution rights by Alibaba Cloud solutions in Europe.

In 2003, Weiss became a member of the global ACCA organization having demonstrated international finance management qualifications. In 2015 she joined the GTDC (Global Technology Distribution Council), an organization representing leading IT distributors. As of 2018 she is a member of Young Presidents Organization, a network of CEOs with 27,000 members in more than 130 countries, and in 2019 she became a member of Business Centre Club.

Ilona Weiss is a regular speaker at industry conferences: GTDC Investor Summit (Wall Street, New York, 2015), GTDC Summit EMEA (Vienna, 2017), Global Women's Leadership Summit (Tokyo, 2017 and Sydney, 2018), Grow Your Business with the Best (Warsaw, 2017), Technology Symposium (Stanford University, 2018 and 2019).

Privately, Ilona Weiss is a mother to three children.
