Planet Panic is an American animated short created by Gene Goldstein (background artist on the animated series The Loud House.)[1] for Nickelodeon, and produced at Nickelodeon Studios. It was apart of Nick's 2015 Animated Shorts Program contest.[2] It was then released online through the official Nick Animation YouTube channel on Feb 10, 2018, which has garnered over 191,005 thousand views as of September 29, 2018,[3] and 1.7M views on the official Nickelodeon Animated Shorts Facebook page.

Plot[edit]

The pilot follows a hero boy named Pibbles (Gene Goldstein) going through a training session with his partner and mentor, Zeus a man-machine hybrid (Bob Strang.) They go an a seemingly boring mission to save a cat stuck on a tree while chaos resumes all around them.

Production[edit]

Planet Panic was created by Gene Goldstein, a background layout designer for The Loud House. Before working at Nickelodeon Gene Goldstein had a significant online presence on Newgrounds having created several animated shorts before announcing him landing his job at Nickelodeon Studios. Not long after working there, Planet Panic came into fruition. Planet Panic was one of 22 named participants from the 2015 Animated Shorts Program, whose projects would be developed into shorts with the potential to air on Nickelodeon, or appear on the network’s site or app. As of now, it has only appeared on the official Nick Animation YouTube channel and the official Nickelodeon Animated Shorts Facebook page. No further information on a confirmed full series has been released yet.
