Platform9 is a California based company founded in the year 2013 by Sirish Raghuram, Bich Le, Madhura Maskasky, Roopak Parikh .[1] Platform9 is a privately-held cloud infrastructure company with an open-source software-as-a-service solution based on Kubernetes and OpenStack which manages hybrid clouds across multiple environments.[1][2]

Platform9 provides a solution for managing infrastructure across hybrid or multi clouds through a SaaS managed solution. The company’s hybrid cloud platform delivers the open-source frameworks of Kubernetes and OpenStack as cloud infrastructure service with automated operations and SLA guarantee on any infrastructure.
Platform9 Managed Kubernetes and the corresponding Platform9 Managed OpenStack deliver a fully managed service on any infrastructure - on premises data centers, public cloud providers, or at the edge. The solution includes built-in monitoring, upgrades, multi-cluster operations, high availability, DR, and more which are automatically handled by the service and backed up by SLA.
The company introduced Kubernetes Managed Apps to its fully managed Kubernetes Service on June, 2019 enabling self-service consumption and seamless Day-2 operations with 99.9% SLA for Prometheus monitoring, EFK logging, databases, and other Kubernetes platform services. Platform9 is a platform which enables users to plug-in their existing servers and workloads across any cloud environments.[3][4][5][6]
Platform9 supports frameworks like Kubernetes, OpenStack, serverless frameworks such as Fission, and more.[7][8][6]

Platform9 raised total funding of $615M over four rounds. The recent investors for Platform9 are NGP Capital, with participation from Mubadala Ventures . In 2015 Platform9 raised $10M in Series B funding for its OpenStack Deployment and Management Services.[38]Platform9 raised $22M in a funding round led by Canvas Ventures, to make Open Source Cloud Infrastructure Tech easier. Platform9 received fundings from Canvas Ventures, Hewlett Packard, Redpoint Ventures and Menlo Ventures.Platform9 raised $4.5M in Series A funding from Redpoint Ventures.[1][39][40]
