The PlayStation 6 (abbreviated as PS6) is an upcoming home video game console set to be developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment and released during the tenth generation of video game consoles at an unspecified date.
History
Development
In November 2022, it was reported that Sony Interactive Entertainment had filed trademark applications for the PlayStation 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 in Japan.[1] In response to Microsoft's planned purchase of WB Games and Activision Blizzard, the Competition and Markets Authority in the United States had released a redacted confidential document with input from Sony that stated the next generation of console would not be released until after 2027.[2]
