Pontus Winnberg (born february 25, 1975), also known by his producer name Avant, is a Swedish musician, songwriter, record producer & entrepreneur. He is also co-founder of the indie label INGRID & founder of the audio & visual label SKOLHAUS.[1] [2]

He formed the producer duo Bloodshy & Avant together with Christian Karlsson, most famous for writing the Grammy Award Winning song Toxic by Britney Spears. Together they worked with artists including: Kylie Minogue, Ms. Dynamite, Madonna, Jennifer Lopez.[3][4] [5]

Pontus has since worked with different artist such as MishCatt[6] and addition to his production work he is a member of the Swedish indie bands Miike Snow, Amason & LIV.[7]

Bloodshy & Avant[edit]

Swedish songwriting and production duo Christian Karlsson (Bloodshy) and Pontus Winnberg (Avant) first teamed up in 2001 to co-write and produce the single "I'm Right Here" for Samantha Mumba. They have worked with many pre-eminent artists, including: Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Ms. Dynamite, Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Kelis, Girls' Generation, Christina Milian, Sky Ferreira, Utada and BoA. Together they had their biggest success with the Grammy Award Winning song Toxic by Britney Spears.[8] [9] [10]

Miike Snow[edit]

A Swedish/American indie pop band formed in 2007. The band consists of producing team Bloodshy & Avant and American singer Andrew Wyatt. Since their debut, they have released three studio albums,  Miike Snow (2009), Happy to You (2012), and iii (2016).[11]

Amason[edit]

In December 2012 Pontus started the Swedish band Amason with vocalist Amanda Bergman, guitarist, keyboardist and vocalist Gustav Ejstes (from Dungen), drummer Nils Törnqvist and bassist Petter Winnberg - brother to Pontus. They released their self-titled EP in August 2013 via Stockholm-based label Ingrid. Amason's debut album *"Sky City" won the Grammis (Swedish Grammy) for Album of the Year in 2016. The band was also nominated for Artist of the Year, Pop of the Year and New Artist of the Year at the same awards ceremony.[12] [13][14]

Teenage Engineering Soundsystem (TESS)[edit]

TESS is a live electro performance group consisting of engineers from the electronic company Teenage Engineering, musical friends and fans to the company. They have played with Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) who is a big fan to their most known synth OP-1. Pontus is both musician and creative producer for TESS.[15]

LIV[edit]

Band comprised of Pontus, Lykke Li, Andrew Wyatt & Björn Yttling founded in 2013 for a one off show at Art Basel Miami with Vanity fair and Jeffrey Deitch. Together they have released 4 songs so far.[16]

SKOLHAUS[edit]

SKOLHAUS is a record label, recording studio and audio visual lab, founded in 2017 and Pontus Winnbergs latest project. Skolhaus is found surrounded by horse farms on the Swedish countryside south of Stockholm. Mixing new technology with analog and retro hardware he and Albin Eidhagen works with a vast number of bands and artists, both Swedish and international.[17]

Pontus has been partner in the home electronic/synth company for a number of years and involved in a number of projects connected to the company.[18]

INGRID[edit]

Ingrid is a Swedish artist collective and record label founded by Pontus Winnberg & Björn Yttling in 2012. INGRID concists of thirteen artists and musicians and have two studios owned by Pontus and Björn. Other members: Lykke Li, Peter Morén & John Eriksson (Peter, Bjorn & John), Andrew Wyatt (Miike Snow), Joakim Åhlund (Teddybears, Caesars and Les Big Byrd), Coco Morier & Jonas Torvestig.[19] [20]

Ingrid Studio[edit]

Former Polar Studios/KMH Studios. A classic Stockholm based studio owned and run by Pontus and Björn Yttling since 2012.[21]

Bysistorgets Kaffebar[edit]

Coffee shop connected to Ingrid Studio. Owned by Pontus, Björn Yttling and Anders Persson. A popular spot for creative people in Stockholm. Usually hosts art exhibitions, small concerts, happenings and events.[22]

Ändersson AB[edit]

Publishing company owned and run by Pontus and Christian Karlsson between 2006 - 2009. Signed artist, songwriters and producers: Petter Winnberg, Nils Törnqvist, Magnus Lidehäll, Stefan Gräslund, Little Majorette.[23]

Nefertiti[edit]

Classic music venue in Gothenburg. Board member and head of programming and daily operation for a number of years starting 1995.[24]
