Pooja Agarwal is an Indian-born Para Shooter who competes in the SH1 classification. She has won a Silver medal at the World Shooting Para Sport World Cup in Al Ain, 2017. She is supported by the GoSports Foundation through the Para Champions Programme.
Early life and background
Pooja fell off a train while travelling in 2012, which caused the loss of an upper limb and her two lower limbs. She trains for 3 to 4 hours daily at a range close to her home, post her office hours at Allahabad Bank. Pooja’s father was a government employee who passed away in December 2016. Her mother is a housewife, and she also has two younger brothers, both of whom are working.
Career
Her first international medal was at the Para Shooting World Cup in Dubai in 2017, where she won a silver medal for the 10m Air Pistol event.
