Porscia S. Yeganeh (born June 27, 1980) is an Iranian-Canadian-Italian fashion designer best known for her Roman Colosseum trademark exemplified on her royalty collection, PORSCIA YEGANEH, specializing in women’s luxury ready-to-wear, leather goods and fashion accessories.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]
The surname, Yeganeh,[8] is also an adjective word, derived from Persian/Iranian language.defined as niche, unique, a one-and-only.[9]
Early life[edit]
Porscia Yeganeh was born in Abadan, Iran, alongside her older brother, Keyvan, and younger brother, Nima. A multilingual child having lived in Istanbul, Turkey, Athens, Greece, Vancouver, Canada, to now residing in Umbria, Italy.[10][11][12][13][14][15][16]
At age six, when she was in Athens, Greece, she hand-tailored a skirt and a shirt made from pillow cases. With exuberance, her childhood was spent creating dresses for her Barbie doll collection by sewing the garments inside-out with colorful threads, in a method known today as “topstitching”. This was further inspired by her multicultural exposure having traveled abroad.[8][17][18][19][19][20][21]
In 2002, Porscia accepted an offer to debut her collection at a small venue in Vancouver.
Her first break came in between 2003-2004, when she showcased her second collection, featuring several of the garments she had created during her teen years, including the pink mermaid gown she wore on her school graduation. Following this debut, she garnered her first buying request from a leading department chain store, The Hudson’s Bay Company, a parent of Saks Fifth Ave.
Her designs have been flaunted by models at the Miss Universe Pageant in 2007, 2008 and 2015 including dressing actress Agam Darshi, on the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival, and at the LEO Film Awards.[22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31]
In the late 2008, she met her fiancé, a professional businessman from a well-known industrial family in Italy. This marked the beginning of a personal and professional relationship. Later, In the following year, she settled in Italy, one of the leading countries in fashion design, while retaining her office and home in Vancouver, Canada.[32].[27][28][29][30]
