Pramod Raman is an Indian short story writer and journalist who was the coordinating editor and a news anchor of the Malayalam news channel Manorama News for 16 years. After leaving Manorama News, he joined MediaOne TV as editor. He began his career in TV news broadcast with Asianet in 1994, where he anchored daily newscasts. Later he worked in the now defunct news channel Indiavision before moving to Manorama News. He has also published two collections of short stories: Rathimathavinte Puthran (2011) and Drishtichaver (2014).[1][2]

Life[edit]

Pramod Raman was born in 1969 in Ravaneeswaram in Kasargod district of Kerala. After completing his studies from Ravaneeswaram Government High School, Kasargod Government College and Kerala Press Academy, he embarked on a career as a journalist in 1990, working with Deshabhimani and Sadbandhu newspapers. In 1994, he began his career as a television journalist. He anchored the first news bulletin of Kerala's first private television channel Asianet on September 30, 1995.[3] He later worked with the now defunct news channel Indiavision. He worked as the senior coordinating editor and a news anchor of Manorama News for 16 years. After leaving Manorama News He joined MediaOne TV as Editor. He published his first story in 2009 and has published five collections since: Rathimathavinte Puthran (2011) , Drishtichaver (2014). Maranamass (2016), Babri Masjidil Pakshikal Anayunnu (2019) and Kadha (2020) He is married to Jayalakshmi P and has a son, Amalendu P.
