Prashant Ahirwar(born 24 February 1996) is a young Indian politician contesting UP legislative elections from the 218-Ghatampur(Reserved) constituency in Kanpur Nagar district, on the symbol of Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP). In the year 2020, he got inspired by the youth leaders of India and left his preparation for civil services exams, activating himself in politics. Prashant Ahirwar connected himself with the Bahujan movement and worked for socially deprived classes with his mates in the Awadh-Bundelkhand area in Uttar Pradesh.

In 2021, he contested the Jila panchayat elections from "Pem(Reserved seat)" in Kanpur Nagar district and secured the runner-up position. Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP) supremo Ms. Mayawati, in 2022, recognised his work towards deprived classes and showed her belief in Prashant Ahirwar[1], offering him an opportunity to contest UP legislative elections from the 218-Ghatampur(Reserved) constituency in Kanpur Nagar district.

Life and Career

Prashant Ahirwar was born to Mrs. Mamta and Mr. B.R. Ahirwar. His father is a District Forest officer in UP. He(Prashant Ahirwar) is single. Belongs to Scheduled castes, studied Masters in Business Administration(MBA) in Finance from Kalinga University Raipur, and was preparing for civil services when he visited Bundelkhand-Awadh area and caught a glimpse of social deprivation and poverty of Backward and Schedule castes. Then he decided to work for them.

Controversies

The day when BSP zonal co-ordinator Naushad Ali and MLC Bhimrao Ambedkar declared the ticket to Prashant Ahirwar in a public meeting, an uproar erupted in favor of Raj Narayan Kureel[2], a prior worker of BSP. The aforementioned leaders had to leave the meeting urgently afterward; the party announced that agitation was staged deliberately by other political parties workers with the support of Raj Narayan Kureel and expelled Raj Narayan Kureel from the Bahujan Samaj Party. Now Raj Narayan Kureel is a candidate of INC in 218-Ghatampur(Reserved).
