Puneet Kaura (born April 21, 1978) is the Managing Director and CEO of Samtel Avionics Limited.[1] Samtel Avionics is a subsidiary of the Samtel Group and manufactures equipment and systems for avionics, military, industrial, and professional applications.[2] [3][1][4][5]
Puneet has been recognized as Top 40 leaders under the age of 40 by Aviation Week & Space Technology in the aerospace and defense industry.[6] Puneet was also selected by NITI Aayog for Prime Minister’s Champions of Change ‘think-tank’.[7]
Early life and background[edit]
Puneet was born on April 21, 1978. He completed his graduation in Management from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts, United States and worked with Corning Incorporated, United States as a management trainee.[8]
Career[edit]
In 2006, Samtel signed up a joint venture with India’s Navratna PSU - Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) for indigenization of avionics displays.[9] Puneet played a key role in developing this JV, which is now serving the Indian Air Force and the Indian defense industry.[10]
In 2008, he set up Samtel’s joint venture with Thales Avionics of France to form Samtel Thales Avionics Ltd. Puneet has also led Samtel in becoming the global supply chain partner to global companies such as Honeywell, General Dynamics, and Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions.[4][11][5]

- 2009-10: Under the leadership of Puneet Kaura, Managing Director & CEO of Samtel Avionics Limited, the company has received the Frost & Sullivan Hot Investment Opportunity Award and also Indian Innovation Award by a leading Indian organisation.[4]
- 2012: Recognized by Aviation Week & Space Technology as Top 40 leaders under the age of 40 in the global aerospace industry in 2012.[6]
- 2018: Selected by NITI Aayog for Prime Minister’s Champions of Change ‘think-tank’.[7]
