Purple Kiss (Korean: ํผํ”Œํ‚ค์Šค, Japanese: ใƒ‘ใƒผใƒ—ใƒซใ‚ญใ‚น, also stylized as PURPLE K!SS) is a South Korean girl group formed by RBW in 2020. The group consists of seven members: Park Ji-eun, Na Go-eun, Dosie, Ireh, Chaein, Yuki, and Swan.[1]

The group has released two pre-debut digital singles prior to debut 'My Heart Skip a Beat' and 'Can We Talk Again'. They are set to debut on March 15, 2021, with their 1st Mini Album 'Into Violet'.[2][3][4]

Purple Kiss is considered a "self-producing" idol group, with the members being actively involved in the songwriting, choreographing, and other aspects of their music and performances similar to their labelmates Mamamoo, Oneus, Onewe, and Vromance.[5][6]

Name[edit]

The group's name, PURPLE K!SS, is a portmanteau of "purple" with the idea that the color is made through more than one color, plus the word "kiss" symbolizing love. Imprinting on the aspect of the diverse personalities of each member's musical color mixed in harmony. Hence, the meaning of Purple Kiss is to "convey love through various colors of music." The seven members have been described to have talent in many forms, including writing, composing, creating choreography, and of course, singing and dancing.[7][8][9]
