QCODE is a Los Angeles-based audio production studio with an emphasis on scripted, narrative stories.
History[edit]
QCODE was founded in 2018 by Rob Herting, a former agent at the Creative Arts Agency.[1] The network was founded in partnership with Aromatic as the production company and Grandview as the management firm.[2] The goal is to provide another outlet to build original stories lacking in the film and television space using podcasting as a platform and avenue for creators to tell new stories.[3][4].
Since it's inception QCODE has created 18 shows and was the first company to integrate Dolby Atmos sound into their podcasts.[5] In 2020 QCODE raised $6.4 million in funding by Sonos with participation by venture-capital firm C Ventures to scale up production to more than 15 original podcasts shows per year.[6]
In 2021 QCODE announced plans to launch QCODE+ with Apple Inc. QCODE+ is a subscription based service that will offer 12 original shows with no ads and bonus material.[7] They was honored with 2021 Innovator Award at the iHeart Radio Podcast Awards.[8]
