Upasana RC (also known as Upasana Roy Chowdhury) is an Indian model and film actress working with the Tamil and Kannada movie industry. She started her career as a professional dancer, went ahead with modeling and is a former beauty pageant winner.[1] During her days in Bachelors of Engineering, she started her film career with the movie titled "Colors in Bangalore".

Early life[edit]
Upasana RC is the only child born to Bengali parents in Gujarat. She traveled and stayed in different cities in her childhood as her dad became the marketing head and got transferred often. This led her to adapting to new language and cultures easily. She is a trained dancer in Bharatanatyam since her childhood.
During her engineering from one of the top college in Bangalore she won many dance competitions. Simultaneously she joined a professional dancing team where she trained herself in western dance forms and performed in over 100 dance shows. In one of her semester breaks she acted in a documentary movie where her interest in acting grew. During her engineering days, she landed the main lead in a Kannada film "colors in Bangalore" . She completed her B.E in information science, also got an offer from IBM during campus recruitment.
Career[edit]
She choose to pursue her career in acting, despite the job offer from IBM .Her parents were initially hesitant on her decision of choosing acting as a full time career. But when Upasana got good reviews from Times of India on her first release "Colors in Bangalore", a Kannada film, which finally convinced her parents and stood by her decision. She went ahead and did numerous modeling assignments. She got featured on the cover page of a Tamil magazine Aval Vikatan.[2] She appeared in various Tamil print ads and TV commercial from brands like GRT jewelers, Chennai silks.
She also was KTM BIKES model for Tamil Nadu and took part in over 20 KTM shows. Upasana RC being an excellent dancer , has performed in many shows as part of a celebrity performance [3]
In Nov 2015 she won the title of Elite Miss India Asia 2015[4]. She made her debut in Tamil industry as an actress with the movie Enbathettu/88. She then moved to Chennai to build her career in the Tamil industry[5].
