Novel criticism[edit]

- Sudanese novelist Hammour Ziada expected that Amr Khaled Rafi Barakat's novel and The Secret of the Mysterious Sands would achieve great success, and achieve sales that surpass Harry Potter and the Bible itself as the best-selling book in world history.

As for the literary critic Omar Shahryar, preaching will automatically appear in Amr Khaled’s novel, and that the educational and rhetorical character of the novel’s events; Because the intellectual structure of Amr Khaled depends on preaching.[15]

As for the novelist Mansoura Ezz El-Din, she said, “After the spread of what I call the literature of self-development for years, it is time to coin a new term that fits the novel by Amr Khaled Rafi Barakat.”

As for some of the readers’ opinions, Ahmed Essam El-Din said, “The novel is worth reading, but I did not like it by the many explicit sermons. I wanted it to be a pure literary work from which the reader would deduce the values that the writer wanted to convey instead of presenting them explicitly and largely in the context of the novel.”[16]
