Events[edit]
The events of love in exile take place in the early eighties, before and after the Israeli occupation of Beirut, tells through the mouth of a fifty-year-old Egyptian journalist Nasseri, who was shocked at what his country came to after the departure of Abd Al-Nasser himself, and the country's transition from leader to leader. He went through several upheavals in his married life that ended in a divorce from his wife Manar, after which he traveled to Switzerland where he worked as a correspondent for a newspaper that no longer publishes anything for him, because he is still loyal to Nasser!
The events of the novel continue, he gets acquainted with the Austrian tour guide Brigitte and fell in love with her. Then a wealthy Gulf prince appears in his life, who tries to convince him to edit a newspaper that he intends to create, but the narrator discovers that there are suspicious intentions in his life.
