Biography[edit]

She started as a model in her native country at the age of 14. In 1993, in Cuba, she was part of the choir of Cuban singer Alfredo Rodriguez, and worked as a presenter of the program Pasacalle on the UHF channel TeleMadrid.

She is a graduate of Televisa's Centro de Educación Artística (CEA) and studied Spanish and Literature in Havana, Cuba. She was host of the program Ecos de la Moda on the international network ECO.

In 1996, Raquel joined the team of hosts of Ritmoson, a video, interviews and Latin music channel broadcast on cablevision.

Over the course of three months, Raquel presents on Mexican television the National Lottery capsules on Televisa's Channel 2,[1] as well as different special programs about music, on the same channel, such as the Acapulco festivals.

Later, on Televisa's Channel 9, she hosted the quiz show Todo se Vale. She has teamed up with the Dominican Vielka Valenzuela, with whom she also did a season as hostess of the TV games, and they were popularly known as "Las Primas".

In 2003, she hosted the program Nuestra Casa, alongside Jorge Muñiz, Carmen Muñoz and Claudia Lizaldi.

At the end of 2004 she decides to resume her taste for music and records the album Y no me importa, where she brings 10 songs that fuse reggaeton with pop and Colombian cumbia, among other Latin rhythms. In 2005 she enters the Big Brother house in its fourth VIP edition.

At the beginning of 2006, she participated in the second stage of Cantando por un Sueño, with Julio Preciado as her teacher and in which she won first place. Later that same year, she participates as co-host of the show Bailando por la Boda de mis Sueños.

From 2007 to 2010 she hosted the variety show TV de Noche, on Televisa's Channel 4, along with Jorge "Coque" Muñiz, Andrea García and Denisse Padilla "La Mapacha".

In 2008 she recorded her second album "Para que sufras" which has 11 songs, including some boleros and ballads.

In October 2010, she joined the ranks of TV Azteca to be part of the program Justo a tiempo, along with Mauricio Barcelata. That same year she became the main host of the program Venga la alegría. At the end of 2014 she left the program to give birth to her daughter.

In 2011, she hosted the contest program "Reina por un día" (Queen for a day), being this the first program in which the host was the only and stellar presenter. Later the program changed to the Talk Show format called "El show de Raquel". Also in this same year she hosted the program "Yo me quiero casar y tu? ". On April 30, 2011, began the transmission of the program "Lotería Mexicana" hosted by Raquel and Mauricio Mancera.

On December 3, 2011, she married producer Alejandro Gavira in a religious ceremony held at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Mexico City.

In 2013 she joined the team of columnist of the newspaper Basta. To date, she has written 3 columns that appear on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

In the same year she participated as host of the program México baila with Rafael Araneda, which was broadcast on Saturdays.

On July 22, 2014, after many attempts, the host of Venga la alegría announced her pregnancy..[2]

On January 7, 2015, the presenter, along with her husband Alejandro Gavira, became the mother of a baby girl who was named Rafaella..[3]

On May 30, 2015, ahe returned to Mexican television again with the program Raquel y Daniel, sharing the conduction and production with Daniel Bisogno, however ahe went off the air on October 31, 2015, due to the economic crisis that TV Azteca is currently going through.

In November 2015, the host was re-signed by TV Azteca for 5 more years of exclusivity.

In January 2016 she was part of the play "El Sirenito" having a successful season and breaking attendance records.

On July 1, 2016, she launched her first book "Manual de la Buena Esposa" with the publishing house "Penguin Random House" and the label "Aguilar" supported by Dr. César Lozano.

On July 25, 2016, she returned to the small screen with the program titled "Las Tardes con la Bigorra" on TV Azteca, demonstrating her enormous talent and quality to direct a live program.

On May 15 of this year, she joined the program Cocineros Mexicanos, broadcast by Azteca Trece.

On May 22, she joined the program Cuídate de la cámara, broadcast by Sony Channel, E! Entertainment Television and Telemundo.

During 2019–2020, she hosted Tu Casa TV. At MVS Television Network

In 2021, the presenter returns to Televisa after 10 years and is currently host of the program + Noche, broadcast by Unicable and Canal de las Estrellas.

Personal life[edit]

Daughter of Antonio Bigorra who is an Industrial Engineer and Rebeca Perez, who used to manage a pharmacy, she has a brother Antonio Bigorra Perez, Manager of Star Insurance Miami.
