Rasheed Ayobami Aranmolate (16 June 1977) is a Nigerian surgeon, medical professional and a burn consultant. He is the medical director and CEO of Grandville Medical and Laser Center, and a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons.[1][2]

Early life and education

Ayobami, Rasheed Aranmolate was born on 16 June 1977, he originates from Ijebu-Ode, a town in Ogun State and was born and raised in Lagos. He attended Ondo State Government College, Usi Ekiti, for his secondary education between 1990 and 1995. In 1997, he gained admission at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 2004.[1]

In 2010, he was certified in healthcare strategy from Harvard University, later in 2015 he was certified in Aesthetic Medicine by the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. Rasheed was trained In Plastic surgery and reconstructive, and was certified after completing his course at Johns Hopkins University in Maryland, United States.[3][4]

Career

Aranmolate's medical career started professionally in 2009, he went through a Postgraduate residency training in Plastic Surgery at National Orthopedic Hospital in Igbobi, Lagos. During his National Youth Service Corps, he served a one-year term at Igede Central Primary Health Care Centre, Igede in Benue State. He was then posted briefly to University College Hospital, Ibadan and was later transferred to National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu as a resident doctor.[3]

In 2013, Dr. Ayobami Rasheed established Grandville Medical and Laser Clinics. He started as a Clinic in Surulere, later was expanded into a health care center with branches in Lagos and Abuja.[5][6]

Professional affiliations

In 2012, Rasheed Aranmolate became a member of Nigerian Medical Association, He is a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons[7] and a Fellow of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.[3]

Personal life

Rasheed is married to Funmilayo Aranmolate and they have two children together.[1]

Controversy

On 16 December 2021, Aranmolate was suspended by the Medical and Dental Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal (MDPDT) on a four-count charge due to violation of the code of medical ethics to which he pleaded guilty. In March 2022, after a 3 months period of suspension, Aranmolate resumed his medical duties and strictly abided by the codes of the tribunal, as revealed during his trial.[8]
