Dr.Razgar Rahimi (1981-2020) was a sessional lecturer at Ontario Tech University and a faculty member at Centennial College. He is famous and popular in Kurdistan for his scientific achievements and charitable and public works and he inspires many young people in this region.[1][2][3] He died alongside his wife, Farideh Gholami, and their three-year-old son, Jiwan Rahimi in Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 Crash.[4]
Life[edit]
Rahimi was born in Saqqez, Iranian Kurdistan. He received the B.Sc. degree from the Iran University of Science and Technology in 2005, and the M.Sc. degree from Shahed University, Tehran, Iran, in 2010. He received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, Oshawa, ON, Canada in 2018. He was a Telecommunication Engineer with Iran Control and Communications Systems Supply Company from 2005 to 2014. He was a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, Oshawa, Ontraio, Canada. His research interests include signal processing, cognitive radio networks, and cooperative wireless communications.[5]
Rahimi taught several classes at Ontario Tech University, including digital signal processing and introductory electronics. He received his PhD in electrical and computer engineering from Ontario Tech University in 2018.[6]
Flight 752 Crash[edit]
Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 (PS752) was a scheduled international passenger flight from Tehran to Kyiv operated by Ukraine International Airlines (UIA). On 8 January 2020, the Boeing 737-800 operating the route was shot down shortly after takeoff from Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corp (IRGC). All 176 passengers and crew were killed. Dr. Rahimi And his family were among the passengers of this Flight.
